Travel Iowa has started the “99 Counties-99 Parks” campaign encouraging Iowans to explore county parks this summer The “99 Counties-99 Parks” list includes one county conservation-managed park from each county. The Grundy Lake is the park that being highlighted in this event. People can browse the complete list at traveliowa.com/99parks or download the full list as a pdf. Families are encouraged to download the Family Fun Guide that includes recipes, a scavenger hunt and art projects as well as information on geocaching and creating nature sculptures. Many of the parks also include "selfie stands" where visitors can take photos and share their experiences using #ThisIsIowa or #99Parks.

The Iowa State Association of Assessors (ISAA) has released a video on 2019 agricultural value changes. The ISAA wanted to explain how the ag rollback works and the effect it will have on 2019 taxable values. Additionally we hope this information will give farmers a better idea of what tax bill changes they might be looking at in the fall of 2020 (That’s when the 2019 assessments come into play).
Grundy County is closest to Farmer C’s numbers. Grundy County’s overall reduction in ag land values was 23% and estimate a 11% increase in taxable values. The varying 2019 productivity values will produce a different outcome in each county. CLICK HERE for the video.

On Grundy County's Beacon Site you can now apply for new Homestead, Military and/or Business Property Tax Credits. Just search for your parcel, then scroll toward the bottom of the information on your parcel and you will see the three credits listed there. Click on the credit you need to complete. The form will open up on another tab and will auto fill for you with the information needed for your property. Read through the whole form and complete the areas that still need to be completed and then sign your name by using your mouse. Click Save in the upper left-hand corner. If there are fields needing to be completed, a message box will appear on which field(s) and a red message will appear by the field(s). When the form is successfully completed, another screen will appear. Put in your email address if you wish to receive a copy for yourself or you can print it a copy from that screen, then click the Submit Application button. That is it.
